Kenneth Branagh is once again donning a rather fetching moustache to tackle the role of Hercule Poirot as he sets off on a pleasant journey down the Nile. As always, however, his trip is beset by intrigue and murder. Another classic Agatha Christie set to grace our cinema screens in October 2020, again adapted for screen by Michael Green. While still a year away, Twitter has been set abuzz by the formal announcement of the main cast, which looks just as star-studded as “Murder on the Orient Express”.
Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot features alongside Blank Panther rising talent Letitia Wright. Comedy legends Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders are set to reunite, alongside Game of Thrones actress Rose Leslie and returning star Tom Bateman as Bouc. Alongside these stars are Armie Hammer, Annette Bening, Ali Fazal, Sophie Okonedo, Emma Mackey and Russell Brand. While originally attached to the project, Jodie Comer no longer appears to be involved, no doubt due to her Killing Eve commitments.
Death on the Nile has a preliminary US release date of 9 October 2020.
